An arm of Social Physics Lab
The prisoner's dilemma is the largest impediment to coordination inside the enterprise.
Hyperstition applies our research in game theory and coordination to an enterprise's own data, at scale. It is the enterprise counterpart to the work at socialphysics.inc.
Section I
What We Do
Research made operational against an enterprise's own data.
- Research
- We study where incentives stall agreement between parties who would each gain from reaching it, and design the mechanisms that unblock them.
- Analysis at Scale
- We run that research against an organization's own data, across the volume and mess of real operations rather than a clean model.
- Game Theory in Practice
- Prisoner's dilemma, negotiation, and incentive design become instruments applied to live decisions, not abstractions on a whiteboard.
Section II
Where It Applies
The places where every party would gain from agreement and no one moves first.
- Negotiation
- Multi-party agreements that structurally stall because no side wants to commit first.
- Mergers & Acquisitions
- Deals that hinge on structure and trust rather than substance.
- Incentive Design
- Compensation, contracts, and internal markets that reward the behavior an organization actually intends.
- Trust & Enforcement
- Social contracts that hold without a party policing every move.
Section III
The Lab
Hyperstition is the enterprise practice of Social Physics Lab, a research team building the protocols behind human and agent coordination. The lab is math-centric, with 20+ IMO and IOI gold medalists working on trust scaling, blame assignment, and multi-party negotiation.
